Hi. I'm Sarah.

Let's be friends, yes?

It's been a year or two since I set up this site. It's still a pretty basic piece of Internet real estate. No dramatic backstory, no tagline, no theme, no catchy title, no logo, and no me-as-a-personal-brand kind of presence. The design and layout are perhaps little too fancy and over the top for my needs, but it could be said that I'm a little too fancy and over the top in most situations.

I still think it's funny I've established a blog at all, because a couple of years back, I dramatically pared down my online presence to make space for more quiet in my life. I cleaned out my blog feeds, closed down my Twitter, and left Instagram a couple of times (at least). Over time, I returned to most of those things. I even got the hang of Snapchat, but I have the sneaking feeling that it's a waste of my time and headspace.

I still hang around on Flickr, Instagram, and Facebook because they are nice ways to keep up with old friends, but I've been pretty quiet there lately. In fact, in the days after the 2016 election here in the US, I was fairly certain that severing my ties with all of the social media for the foreseeable future might be good for my well-being. I probably won't go that far, but I think about it.

I still love reading blogs, the ones that are more or less personal journals. Some are beautiful, quiet spaces that are uplifting, thoughtful and truly good for my soul. I'd love to create that kind of place for others, but I'm not a particularly talented artist, writer, or photographer. I like to dabble in those kinds of creative things, though. I'll share some of that here.
